The Oklahoma State Troopers Association was formed May 3, 1974 after a need and desire arose for a collective voice in areas that could affect their income, safety, and operations. The organization has lobbied for and been a part of the successful implementation of a number of areas affecting Oklahoma State Troopers. The main goal has and always will be to look out for the best interests of all state troopers and communication officers.
Trooper Ealmer Klippel served as the first president of the OSTA. Currently, its longest-term president, Roy Rogers, leads the organization. OSTA President, Roy Rogers, was first elected in 1993 and 2007 marks his 14th year to lead the organization which does so much for all Oklahoma State Troopers.
Other members of the Executive Board include 1st Vice President – Phillip Ellyson #232, 2nd Vice President – Russell Knoke #738, Secretary – Ben McHand #781, and Treasurer – Curtis Leming #490. The current members of the Executive Board all strive to make conditions better for the Oklahoma State Trooper and work directly with the Board of Directors in order to make that possible.
