Shortly after noon Trooper Nicolle was piloting the OHP helicopter out of Muskogee,
Oklahoma, enroute to Watts, in Adair County, to assist Adair County authorities in
locating and eradicating a large marijuana field.

As Trooper Nicolle was flying over United States Highway 62, southwest of Tahlequah,
the helicopter struck a power line, and crashed on the shoulder of the road.

Trooper Nicolle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
